Beschrijving: The film starts with a Belgian town in flames, and civilians lying dead in the streets. A terrified young mother with her baby is encountered by two drunken German soldiers, one carrying a smouldering torch. Despite her pleas they snatch the baby from her and throw it to the ground. "Once a German, always a German." The figures of the soldiers dissolve into the same two men, a few years older, in business suits as travelling salesmen. "They will be the same beasts then as they are now. A leopard cannot change his spots." The two salesmen come into a peaceful English village. One enters a general store and offers the shopkeeper examples of the pots and pans that he sells. The shopkeeper is keen to accept the pan, but his wife, noticing the "Made in Germany" label, objects strongly and calls the village constable; at which the salesman leaves rapidly.
